To be or not to be Alpine: New petrological constraints on the metamorphism of the Chenaillet Ophiolite (Western Alps)

چکیده
The Chenaillet Ophiolite represents a very well-preserved portion of Ligurian-Piedmont ocean in the Western Alps. It is formed from an oceanic lithospheric succession comprising exhumed mantle, various mafic intrusives (i.e., gabbro sensu lato), and world-renowned sequence pillow basalts. Apart scarce breccias closely related to lithosphere, no sedimentary cover exposed. Historically, has been known for its low temperature–low pressure Alpine metamorphism, ascribed obduction processes. However, studies aimed at constraining peak pressure–temperature (P–T) conditions metamorphism are virtually lacking, general focus having so far on high temperature geochemical features. In this paper, we investigate two kinds rocks: albitite/alkali syenite, whose petrographic features shed light complex metamorphic history Ophiolite. Detailed analyses mineral assemblages, blastesis/deformation relationships, chemical data allow events be distinguished: earlier, event (already reported literature) second, later temperature, event, recognized here first time. strikingly testified by occurrence lawsonite relicts interstitial omphacite albitite. Overlapping these P–T with those inferred albitite based observed assemblage allows constrained 10–11 340–360°C. This finding generates challenging questions regarding both exhumation orogens such as

New isotopic constraints on age and magma genesis of an embryonic oceanic crust: The Chenaillet Ophiolite in the Western Alps
The Chenaillet Ophiolite is one of the best-preserved remnants of the Piemont-Liguria oceanic basin, a branch of the Central Atlantic that opened during the separation of Adria/Africa from Europe. Despite numerous studies of structure, petrology, geochemistry and isotope geochronology, the timing and genesis of various magmatic rocks within the Chenaillet Ophiolite are still controversial. We p...

death is something real which is fully accepted by human being, the definition of death is different among public and scientists such as philosophy experts and biologists. here we leave the philosophy content to themselves and look at the death from the biological point of view which may be some kind of philosophy as well. in biological science the death is well defined so it is the end of life...

from linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
